The laptop has been gently used for 4 years - bought new.

I'd really appreciate some advice.

I have a PS5 Slim (EDM-040) that came in for an HDMI repair. It powered on before the repair but had no display. The HDMI area had already been damaged from a previous repair attempt, with several ripped pads/tracks and one missing capacitor.

I rebuilt the damaged traces and installed a new HDMI port. It still powered on but there was no display. After rechecking and reworking the HDMI area a few times, the console is now completely dead.

It has 12V from the PSU, but no beep, no blue light, and no fan spin.

Has anyone seen this before or can suggest what I should check next? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll unplug it and do the power drain with the button and it comes back on, and will continue to do this about every 5-8 minutes, but always comes back. Any idea what the problem could be at this point? Would it be the main logic board, like a capacitor that could be bad? I can tell it's still getting power and doing something because the computer is still seeing the monitor in the display properties, and it'll come and go as you plug and remove the hdmi cable.

I've tried the easy things, different cables, different computers, updated drivers, all with the same results. And it is plugged in to a surge strip, if that makes any difference.

Upon taking it apart I can see it has been opened before and a bigger battery has been put it.

When inspecting the board I can see any obvious signs of damage but I have noticed that if I disconnect the main ribbon cable from the left joystick board and then plug it into power I now get a red led on the charging light. It stays solid for a few seconds and then flashes. When this happens it draws around 20.12v at 0.010a. when I reconnect the joystick board I get no led.

My first thought is that there is something wrong with the joystick board. I just wanted to see if anyone has had any similar issues before and if they know if the device can still boot if the joysticks are not connected.

update1: thank @dan0 for the response. Unfortunately, I can't test the Wii on its own, since I don't have another power adapter right now, but I'll try to get one. However, the voltage readings I took were from the power adapter itself, at the 12V output.

I've attached the images.

This is a general view of the transformer with the integrated circuits I mentioned earlier already replaced.

There's the fuse and the varistor that were replaced after they burned out.

Measure the output voltage at these two points: at the cable connector that connects to the Wii, and at the cable output from the motherboard.

I had/have a problem with my old PS2 SCPH-30003 daughterboard. This small board holds a CR2032 battery and the clock chip I believe. I noticed that after a few months, the new CR2032 battery I had put in was totally flat.

So, I tested the board and found out that there was a 100μA current draw with the board completely isolated and disconnected. Supposedly this isn't right.

On my original board, I did notice some kind of corrosion around the negative battery holder terminal, as well as the pins of the clock chip. I didn't see anything like this on the replacement board.

But after testing said replacement board I bought (listed as working), the exact same thing is happening...

The weird thing is, that the original Sony battery from both boards had NOT drained. Both were sitting at around 3.08v.

Does anyone know what might be going on here?

So i have late 2013 27 inch iMac. The fan stopped spinning. I installed TG Pro and sure enough it was showing 0rpm.

So i bought a new fan and followed iFixit guide to install it but even the new fan is not working.

What could be the issue here?

I read somewhere that cold solder on fan controller(?) might be the issue. I have attached the image below of the fan connector area. Can anyone help me point out what i could do to fix this without having to go to Apple?
