Black Lock Mechanism for #3 connector on 3G?

Hi

my old iPhone 3g's home button was giving me some problems. So i opened it. I didnt know that reconnecting wire 3 is pain in the *^!. So after i try to reconnect it, first of all, it wont go in properly. Sometimes the golden part goes in completely but the Ear Speaker and proximity sensors still doesnt works. I read some posts related to this. They say that make sure the black latch or lock is flipped up before reinserting and down after inserting. But i cant see any lock like that. The wire has some scratches on it but that doesnt seems to be the problem. I mistakenly bent the wire several times while i was trying to insert. I'm not sure what the problem is. Please show me a picture of the lock or try to help me. Its Urgent.

The latch is on the bottom side of the connector it lifts up and then you slide the flex in. The scratches indicate someone pulled the cable out without opening the latch possibly damaging the cable. Sometimes the latch is white with a black connector sometimes it is black with a white connector. If the latch is broken it will have to resolder a new one.
