sim card not installing properly

My son broke the dock connector trying to shove the charger in it. I bought a replacement dock connector for ifixit and followed a youtube video to install it. When done, the sim card wasn't easer to replace and the phone is saying NO SIM card. I merely want to get the pictures off of the phone!

Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. iPhoto on Mac or Windows on PC will allow you to get the photos. If you want the SIM Tray installed correctly then, turn OFF iPhone and reverse steps. Disconnect flex cables and remove screws. Top left of Logic Board at SIM BAY area must go under small plastic clip next to Headphone Jack. Carefully push Logic Board top down and then slide it under this clip as you install the Logic Board. Use the Sim Tray loosely fitted as a guide so you know you have it just right.
