Maximum Hard Drive installed
Your article shows the max hard drive to be a 500 gb. is this the maximum? and which speed is best. I am not gaming or dong heavy video editing.

A 640 GB seems to be the largest 9.5 mm drive. There are larger 12.5 mm drives but we don't know if they will fit. The 7200 drives are nice but tend to run a bit hotter.

I have an original 17" MBP (Core Duo), and have a 12.5mm WD 1TB drive installed and it fits and works fine, although it feels slower than the 500GB model I replaced (same apparent rotational speed).
