wi-fi isnt working after major water damage

hi everybody!

i currently own an iPhone 3GS, i went on vacation to Orlando,Florida a couple days back, and accidentally dropped it in the ocean... i took it home and let it dry out , charged it up and the only problems were my lock button wasnt working, and my sound button is a little glitchy. but it wasnt a big problem, i was just glad my phone worked. now my phone isnt connecting to wi-fi at all. i go to settings and it doesnt even connect/pick-up any other networks. ive tried restoring it, and it still doesnt work.. If you could please give me advice on how to get this to work please!!! thank you!!1

First of all, the ocean is about the worst place to drop an iPhone. The Ocean is composed of salt water which when exposed to electricity has very corrosive properties. What you need to do is immediately stop using your phone and clean it out. I would follow this guide:

iPhone 3GS Logic Board Replacement

to get the logic board out. Then you will need to take any part of the phone except the speakers, and screen, and glass, and soak it for a min or two in isopropyl followed by a gentle rubbing with a soft brush . You will need to do this with the logic board and and connectors in the phone. The more you use your phone before cleaning it the worse it will be. You can also google water damage cleaning guides and that will also help you.

Hope this Helps
