Liquid spill, no chime, no display :(
I am working on a 2011 macbook pro 13 i5. It had a liquid spill in the are of the lcd data cable.
No chime. No display.
I removed the logic board and cleaned the are twice with alcohol then dried with compressed air.
When I plug in the ac adapter the hard drive will spin. No chime , no display. no lights.
If I do a shift control option power button, then press the power button to start I get nothing. If I wait 15 seconds after the above reset to hit the power button to start I get a high speed fan.
If I hold the power button in while the fan is running then let go the fan will spin down like to shut off but instead of shutting off will go back to high speed after stopping.
The ac adapter end is bright green and will charge the battery turning orange.
It acts the same on AC or battery power.
I have removed dvd and other cable with no affect.
I would like to try and start it without the keyboard but am not sure of the jumpstart pad connection.
Also on this model it looks like they are feeding the inverter thru the data cable. Is that correct?
Well thanks for listening and any ideas would be appreciated.
Is this a good question?
