Screen replacement digitizer dust cover?

I recently received an iPhone 4 replacement screen and I'm curious if I'm supposed to remove what appears to be a bluish green dust cover from the back of the digitizer. The old screen didn't have one. Is it a dust cover, protector for shipping or part of it?

Yes, You can remove it, its not something that I would think would interfere with the normal operations of the phone.
