one with Backlight Problems and a Dead one

hi,

i have 2 MacBooks here.

one has a backlight problem - if i set the backlight to 100% - it switches off.

the inverter is ok (already changed it before i found out that the light only fails when it's to bright)

the other one is dead, does not respond to anything - the logic board looks fine, nothing special, no fluid damage or anything else - any suggestion ??

Since the powers goes -> logic board-> inverter cable -> inverter board -> backlight lamp I can't see another culprit than the logic board if you replaced the inverter cable and the inverter board. I don't think the backlight lamp could be causing the problem. Could you install the display coming from the deat unit to the problematic unit if they're compatible and check if the problem persists ?

well, i already changed the lcd from the dead one to the working one - but they are not the same

the working one has 3 wifi antennas instead of two - maybe apple changed the lamps and thats why the screen went dark when the light is on 100%

Do you trust the "new" inverter board. Where does it come from ? I don't think the lamps have something to do with the problem. Just a small fluorescent tube that gets its power directly from the inverter board (no other electronic board or component between the two devices). You may post the 2 MacBooks model numbers and I think Ben Eiseman could tell us if the two inverter boards are compatibles.

well, i think it's something different

when i move the lid - the light goes out (not always) - it sometimes comes back when i close the lid and open it again or when i change the light to 0% and then back to "normal"

Did you also replaced the inverter cable ?

by

yes, i replaced the complete lid - but that could be the problem.....
