Can os 9 be installed on MacBook?
I have replaced the HD and installed OS 10.4.11. Can I install OS 9 on this computer? Which OS 9 can I use?

When the Intel processor was finally used in the Macs, they took away our ability to use OS 9.

"You cannot use Mac OS 9 applications on Intel-based Macintosh computers because the Classic environment is not supported."

Something new is out to do just that. It's called Sheepsaver
1. Install SheepSaver on your Intel machine.
2. Copy over a ROM from an old Mac.
3. Install Mac OS 9 (or older) from a CD

Mayer: What is Apples take on the copyright on their ROM resources? Do they look at it as Piracy of their intellectual property?
I don't see how they could complaint about their ROMs being used on their machine with their operating system. How are they infringed upon? That's like complaining about MS Office that runs on a Mac.
Not licensed to the new machine. And Apple doesn't have to make sense. Look how they treated the Clones they authorized then took that away from all of us. Anyway just a possible snag in the future if using something like Sheepsaver.
I was a Authorized UMAX Value Added Reseller and hated it when they pulled the clones. As for this case, if you get the software now and install it then it's a "fait accompli", a done deal, and Apple can't do squat.
