My charger cord will not stay in the dock connector?

I have to use a rubber band to hold my usb cord in my iphone for it to charge. There looks like there is nothing wrong with it, but the cord will not stay in. Is there anything i can do, besides installing a new pin connector? This problem is with any cord I use.
