it turned off, and it only works on power from the wall

I got it to work off battery for a while by hitting the back rather hard, but now that wont get it working, my guess is that something is loose inside. it will work from my wall charger adapter but not my computer. the instant i unplug it it cuts off.

I have dropped it once but it was in a case, so something might have come loose

Well I beat the hell out of it and it works again, but obviously, continuing to do this can't be very good. I have to hit the back to make it work

You're just gonna have to open it up and inspect the connections. You might want to order a replacement battery so when you have it open you can replace the old one if needed. My guess would be a faulty battery as I doubt the connections could get loose inside.

The connections to and from the battery are soldered. Coming loose is a very slim possibility.

well they ARE made in china. $*$^ happens to stuff made in china. Like the Toyota brakes. And the lead and the melamine and the exploding tires and the flaming laptop batteries and the radioactive childrens jewelry.
