Left fan not running but facing very small bumps

Hi,

My MBP left fan stopped working, smcfancontrol shows 000rpm, I've done a SMC and NVRAM restart, but the problem remained. Then I've opened the back cover and I was able to see only the right fan working. Finally, to confirm I've run the Hardware test and got a "4M0T/4/40000002: left side-0", which seems to confirm that this is a hardware problem.

Although, with the computer opened, I was able to observe that the fan, although not spinning, it does slightly bounces, with very small bumps, let's say a bump per second, like if it was trying to spin but it couldn't. Is it normal? Is the fan really broken? Shouldn't it be completely stopped?

Answer this question I have this problem too

No it's not normal. The fan needs to be replaced before you burn out the components attempting to make it run. Electronics won't fix them selves, or get better if you wait, only more goes wrong. Be sure to order the tools you'll need when you order the fan...every job goes easier when you use the proper tools.
