iPod Touch 1st Gen Volume will NOT work!

*My ipod touch wouldn't come on it keep saying connect to itunes an i tried but i counldnt get it to connect but then i was finally able to connect to itunes to restore my ipod. I lost all documents, Apps., Pictures, Music, Everything. but was able to make it work again... Somewhat at least

*Got it back to working after the restore i am not able to turn up my volume i go to my settings an try to do it that way an it will let me but then as soon as i turn it up i can watch the volume go down.. An it's not allowing me to turn it up no way an the volume icon will not go off the screen... It is still allowing me to do everything esle but no other problems.. Could it be the volume button needing to be replaced?

*But i also can not use the sleep or the power button is not working at all either for me to try to restart it... I can't turn it to sleep or even cut it off or on...

Please Please help as much as possible if you can.
