Replacing battery on iPhone 3G

Help! I'm thinking of replacing my battery, but too attached and worried if my data (pictures, notes, etc) will erase completely. I can't back up my iPhone on iTunes because my phone is completely turned off and will not allow me to do so. My question is, if I replace the battery, will I lose all my data?

An answer would be highly appreciated, thank you...

No. Battery replacement will not affect the data. The fact that you cannot back-up now is the problem. If the battery is not the problem then you have other issues to solve. But after battery replacement your data will be as before the battery replacement.

if you remove and replace the battery you should not loose anything. i do it all the time and never loose any picks or other data. just like if your phone dies you dont loose anything. the only way you will loose picks and other data is if you do a reset of the phone. good luck.
