turning 2 broken logic boards into one working?

hello dear fixers,

i have two broken 3GS logic-boards:

- with one the phone does not turn on at all, nothing - dead. i got caught up in a thunderstorm in the mountains last week and although there was no direct water contact the phone might have been exposed to some moisture since it stopped working a few hours later. i also realized that the little jagged spike on the bottom right (if sim-trays top that is) broke off (i assume its some kind of grounding since it connects to the frame?!).

- the other one has some graphical issues since it shows only grey stripes. the computer recognizes the phone though and it seems to work as far as i can tell w/o display.

question one: could the spike be the reason for the phone being dead? i still have it so what would be the best way to reattach it?

question two: if thats not the problem - do any of you have experience with transferring - lets say the graphics chip from one board to another?

thanks in advance for your input,

best,

paul

ps: i can rule out a damaged dock connector since i just now replaced it ... was unfortunately not the issue.
