My pc doesn't boot, but only in my home. Why?

My pc won't boot, but only in my home, basically it gives no output to any peripheral like my monitor and my keyboard, but the tower itself still receives power, fans turn on and everything.
I tried troubleshooting since this was something that has happen before but none of the troubleshoots i tried worked, so i send it to a repair shop and after waiting some days called back, apparently, my pc worked just fine in their repair shop and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. This has happen twice now, the first time, my pc worked fine after picking it up and stopped working after a week, but now it just doesn't work.
Can someone please what is happening? I'm just extremely confused.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @tochi55115

What is the make and model number of the PC or motherboard if it is a custom build?

by

it has an asus prime a320m-k

@tochi55115 How much wattage does your WHOLE setup make? Try to use a PC wattage calculator and compare it to how much wattage your PSU can provide just to see if your PSU is underpowered. I would suspect that what the repair shop uses is very lightweight compared to an at-home build just to make sure that the basics works.

@user5136121 The pc uses around 400 to 500 watts, not including peripherals and such, and i'm using an 800 watts psu, so i don't think i could be a problem with the psu.

@tochi55115 Okay, so that is out of the way...huh.

Hi @tochi55115

Try a power refresh and check if that resolves the problem.

Disconnect the power from the PC and then open the PC and remove the coin cell battery from the motherboard. (see p1.1 (9 of 28 pdf) in the owner manual for the location of the battery).

When the battery is out measure its voltage. If it is <2.4V DC or if the battery is >4-5 years old, replace it. It looks like it's a CR2032 Lithium coin cell which is commonly available e.g. supermarkets.

Press and hold the PC's Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reinsert the coin cell battery into the battery holder on the motherboard, +ve side up as marked on the battery.

Reassemble the PC, reconnect the power to the PC and check if it turns on OK with a display etc.

If it does there may be a message stating that the date and time are incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset back to its factory default state. Once the date and time have been corrected, the message won't appear the next time the PC is turned on.

Also any user definable BIOS settings that were altered by you to suit whatever system requirements you had, will need to be changed back again as well.

Hello, thanks for the response.

But still, my pc doesn't work. I've tried resetting the battery and replacing the battery and still, my pc doesn't seem to boot.

Not booting or not turning on, there's a difference.

Not turning on or passing POST means that there may or may not be lights on the keyboard or fan may or not turn on and there's no display.

Not booting means that it passes POST i.e. usually you can get into BIOS with a display on startup, but it doesn't boot into the OS

If you can't get into BIOS etc use the paperclip test to make sure that the PSU is supplying all the necessary voltages.

If the PSU is OK and if there's more than 1 ram module, first remove/replace the modules and check and if still no good, remove all but leave 1 module in place and try starting and check. If no good remove that module and try the next one etc. Disconnect the power to the PSU when you go to remove/replace the ram modules and do this every time.

If still no good, connect a speaker example to the motherboard header pins (see owner manual p.9 and p.11 (of 28 pdf) Item #8 for location and listen if any beep codes are heard when turning on the PC
