Repair, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Steam Deck with LCD display, a handheld gaming console made by Valve, released on February 25, 2022. Identified by model number 1010.

L button seems squeaky and " tinny" is it a raise for concern?

I don't know how to describe this well but my L button on my steam deck seems to be almost looser and louder than the R button. It seems squeakier and tinny sounding compared to the R button. Is this a sign of breakage? it's not broken, but I'm concerned what it means.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi!

Maybe the spring is getting to worn out. Or maybe it's dirty there.

Since it still works, this is a good sign.

You can replace it if you want, with following this guide: Steam Deck Left Bumper Button Replacement

You can also leave it if it doesn't disturb you.

I think it's the spring that need to be replaced. But if you want to be sure to know what it is, you need to disassembly it.

Thanks!
