I would start with the simple checks:

1. Make sure the water reservoir is filled and seated correctly.
2. Remove any coffee pod/capsule and check that the holder and head are clean.
3. Make sure the lid or brewing head is fully closed and locked.
4. Unplug the machine for about 10 minutes, then plug it back in and try again.
5. If the machine has a cleaning or descaling cycle, check the manual to see whether the blinking light is indicating that maintenance is required.

On some Nespresso models, two red flashes can indicate an empty water tank or a missing/incorrectly positioned capsule, while other models use different meanings for the same pattern.

If you can post the brand and exact model number, along with whether the light goes back to green/orange or keeps repeating the two-blink pattern, it should be possible to narrow down the code much more accurately.
