Is it safe to remove mic and cam?

I need (due to company security policy) to remove (cut the wire) microphone in MBP (mid 2010), is it safe?

Will be all other things in MBP still fully functional?

And, same question for camera.

I would not cut the cable. Just remove it. Similarly disconnect the camera cable connector from the logic board.

The laptop will function minus these components... though you may get some strange error dialogs, and may have to remove an extension or two to get those to stop (I say may because I've never done this, but can suggest the least destructive way to accomplish what you require.)
