Torn motherboard at digitizer cable

I replaced the screen on my iPod 4g touch. When removing the digitizer cable I tore the motherboard. To be more specific the piece of the motherboard that the digitizer cable attaches to tore off of the main motherboard. The green board tore completely off with the connector attached. The device powers on with a white screen only. Can this be repaired or will the whole motherboard need to be replaced?

Chosen Solution

in a nutshell it's probably a difficult repair for a novice, depending on how ripped off the connector is you may be able to solder the pins back on or get someone else to do the job for you. If the pins have taken the trace connectors from the motherboard/logicboard the only other solution is a new logicboard :-(
