Brandy, the Rice was great first aid. Problem with the Rice is that it will not prevent any corrosion and will not remove all moisture. I strongly suggest that you clean your iPod properly. Follow this guide. It was written for a iPhone, but all the cleaning steps still apply to your iPod as well. Once you have it properly cleaned, re-evaluate the damage. From what you tell us, it sounds to me that the backlight of your display is working, but not the video data. Start by replacing the display and see what happens. Hope this helps, good luck.
