Testing Power Board & Logic Board

Hope someone can help...

I have a MacBook Air 11" 1.6/4 2010

It won't power on. The magsafe light goes form orange to green. No apple lighting up on the lid.

The fan spins and the USB ports see some power but that's about it.

I want to check the power board first so that I don't spend all that money on a logic board.

How do I check the power board?

Also, can I use the logic board from say a 1.4/2 or a 1.6/2 to replace mine or is there a difference between all the other parts that connect to the logic board in each version of the machine?

Thanks so much - Matty

You could have a cracked internal battery. My MacBook Air would often refuse to start, and if it did sometimes the battery wouldn't be recognized, but when it was showed good state and low cycles.

After a few frustrating situations where one day it wouldn't boot, and then suddenly it would I opened it up find the battery had a crack running through it. (I recalled when travelling earlier some @sshat started to shoved his laptop bag on top of my laptop bag in the overhead bin-I yelled at him but apparently damage was done that did not immediately show up)

The 1.6GHz was a custom OEM upgrade to the 1.4GHz board so if you stay with the same year you could swap boards.. the '11 board has Thunderbolt on it instead of Mini Display so I don't think that board would swap.
