tries to look up wifi password now wifi wont turn on

i went into keychain access to look up wifi passord now airport wont work on the computer without password but my current password is not registering

There are a couple of different things that could cause this. The issue is what is the quickest way to fix it.

If you have a second system can you reset the password on your router and then update your systems password. It might be a good time to also upgrade your authentication from WEP to WPA if you're still using WEP.
