iPod always wants to restore.

Every time I connect my iPod to my computer and the iTunes pops up, it wants to restore.

Then, after it does, it pops up again, and it wont let me put music on my iPod. Drat!

Edd: When you connect your iPod and it shows up tell it to stop the sync and uncheck the "Automatically Sync when this iPod is connected" button on the iTunes screen for the iPod. That will take care of the automatic restore.

As far as the putting on music, was this iPod formatted on this machine or another? If it was on another just tell it to restore and you should be able to put the music on.

NOTE: if you use Norton Anti virus be sure to temp disable the "Auto Protect" while you restore.

I thought this usually indicates a bad hard drive. Does iTunes say your iPod is in "recovery mode" and needs to be restored, but then keeps saying this every time you plug it in? This probably indicates a bad hard drive, possibly motherboard.
