MacBook Pro not booting

I bought a cheap MacBook pro A1286 off eBay in immaculate condition

It came without a HDD, battery or power supply

I bought all 3 and it powers up and the battery Charges.

There isn't any keyboard backlight or LCD backlight.

I have tried all the resets, does this mean it's a logic board replacement?

Have you checked to make sure the display adapter is properly connected? Is there a very faint/dim icon in the middle of the black screen when you try to boot it up?
