Water on iPod touch

I dropped a glass of water in my ipod touch. It was on and i tried to dry it with a hair dryer. Not sure if the moisture has been removed. Should i open it for removing moisture totally? Also, if i need to check part by part what should i check first and how can i be sure what has been brought to death? Furthermore, can you suggest a shop with original ipod parts in europe?

thank you

angel, I most certainly suggest that you clean your iPod properly. If you do not, there will be a risk of corrosion failure at a later time. Here is a guide that will show you how to clean your iPod. It was written for an iPhone, but all the points still apply to the iPod as well. Use these guides to work on your iPod. Replace the battery after you cleaned your iPod. I am at a loss about the European supplier of original parts, but a Google search might help you with that. Hope this helps, good luck.

@oldturkey03: I have cleaned the ipod touch. I have check the battery with a voltmeter and it shows me 4V(3.7 isn't it?). Futhermore i connected the ipod to the pc and pc recognises it. Although I see only a white screen that after becomes blank. Should i try to see if Itunes recognises my ipod? Is there any way to check if the LCD has been damaged? Furthermore if itunes recognises the ipod can i be sure that the logic board is ok?

If your screen lights up but goes dark after a while, it does sound like the backlight is coming on, but it does not get a signal. So, the LCD may be a good starting point. In all likelihood, if iTunes recognizes your iPod and you can proceed with a restore or backup, your logic board should be okay.
