@eknathkanse if you can't find the WiFi option in the control panel, there is either no driver for it or the hardware has failed and can no longer be found.
Try to reinstall the driver for your WiFi. Since you did not give us your computers exact model number, you may need to start checking the drivers from here
If a new driver does not fix it, you most likely have a failed WiFi module. We will need to know your computer exact model number for more info on that.
