Replaced lower case and hard drive, now no power except fans.

I replaced the lower case and hard drive on my MacBook Pro Core Duo (A1150). When I connect the battery, the fans begin to run and don't stop. The power button does nothing and nothing else seems to be active at all. It's like the unit is off, except the fans. It does not do it when I connect the AC adapter, only the battery. And the light on the AC adapter does not turn on. When the battery is not connected, plugging in the AC adapter does not make the fans go on. Did I damage the I/O Board?

Why did you replace the bottom case and hard drive? What was it doing before?

by

I bought it on ebay. The bottom case was beaten up so I just wanted to replace it. As for the HD, I just wanted a larger one. Before I opened it up, it booted fine, charged the battery, the light on the AC adtapter worked and everything was good (except the bent case).

first u need to check all the cables if they were plugged correctly (try to unplug and plug them back) if not search for any scratched cables

but in my view its a cable problem

if the cables are plugged in correctly then its might be a logic board problem

I took it all apart again and swapped out the battery connector and wire harness, as well as re-connecting all of the other cables and it booted right up and the fans are working properly. So I don't know if it was a connection or the battery connector being the wrong one, but it's fixed. Thanks for your wisdom, it saved my bacon.

Put the old hard drive in and see if it will boot up or do anything different.

Tried that, no change at all. Sorry to add more info now, but there's something else I just thought of...the new bottom came with the battery connector and the wire harness attached to it. I left it in the case instead of swapping it, but the number printed on it is different from the original one. Is it possible that they are different?
