iPod will not charge on Docks

I have had two different iPod Classic 160. They both charge in my car, bit will not charge on my iPod dock, my Bose system, or alternate sound systems. Is this a software issue that has been created by Apple through Lion? They used to charge when I was running Leopard. I have tried numerous cords, docks and systems. One is brand new, so I know it isn't the battery. Any help?

Sounds like your mainboard's connector is getting worn. Have you tried manually adjusting the position of the iPod when it is in the dock. Also, is there any water damage to the device?

Using a wall charger or usb cable and wall adapter, try to charge it. Also, adjust the position of the cable connector into the iPod to see if you get some response. It just might be a bad connection.
