My flap broken and my air conditioner doesn't swing

If the flap is broken and the swing isn’t working, it’s usually either a broken hinge/clip or a faulty swing motor. In many AC units, the flap is controlled by a small motor, and if that motor or its linkage fails, the flap won’t move at all.

If the flap itself is physically damaged, you may need to replace the flap piece or try a temporary fix (like carefully reattaching it). If it’s the motor, then it might require opening the unit and replacing that part.

Also worth checking: try a power reset first—sometimes control issues can stop the swing function.

If you’re not comfortable opening the unit, it’s safer to get a technician to look at it.
