Suspending immediately after boot.

I've just replaced the upper case cable, following the guide on the site.

The replacement went fine and now the computer recognises the power button the keyboard and the trackpad.

Unfortunately it seems that i've done something wrong since the laptop suspends immediately after boot.

I can always wake it up after the suspend but it will re-suspend after few secs.

When i wake-up the computer I can see that the login screen is properly loaded but I don't enough time to try to login.

It seems like the laptop believes that it has to stay always in suspend mode. Anyone has an idea of which could be the cause?

When you say suspend do you mean that it freezes?

by

I'm mostly a Linux user, I would call it suspend to ram, but mainly I'm referring to what happen when you close the lid.

Hi All I'm still struggling with this problem, anyone has ever seen anything similar?

Thanks a lot.

Try starting up in Safe mode by holding down the Shift key on startup. Then check your Energy Saver preferences.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've tried it, but it seems that there is not enough time to trigger the safe mode, the laptop goes in suspend/freeze immediately after boot and I cannot prevent this.

Could it be a sensor that claims that the lid is closed and hence force the suspend?

Or could it be a overheating problem (even though i can hear the fan starting)?

Thanks again

Why did you replace the upper case? Did you spill something on it that may have gotten through to the logic board?

by

Hello there again.

I had to change the fan cause it was doing noise, and while doing this by mistake i broke the connector of the upper case cable.

As far as i can tell nothing went on the logic board.

Thanks again.

Take this in to an old computer guy that can solder the connector back on.

I already have bought the new upper case cable, and replaced it.

It seems to work, since i can see the led of the caps-lock working and i can power-up the laptop.

The problem is that the laptop goes immediately sleep mode every time.
