My top bezel is warped - how do I fix it?

At your eye-level, the top bezel looks like this:

__.....----.....__

That "bump" is soft and springy, so some part inside the iPod might be pushing up against the top bezel. My hold button is unreliable unless I hold the bezel in place. Otherwise, the iPod is as good as ever.

The Apple Store and a specialist Mac store said that there's no way in a million years that they would ever help me fix this problem. How can I do it myself? Do I need to buy a new top bezel and glue it on? If so, what glue should I use? Or is an internal component that came loose and keeps pushing my bezel upwards the real problem?

Sounds like your battery has swelled up inside. This is not a good sign. I would not try recharging it or using it as it could cause damage.

If you really have a second generation of the Nano theres not much one can do here. Give Apple support a call with your serial number to see if they have any repair options for you.

Apple currently has a recall on the first generation of the Nano which you can get a free exchange for a newer unit 1st gen Nano exchange just in case you mis classified what you have.

Good Luck
