A computerized sewing machine manufactured by Janome.

The up and down mechanism is jammed

The mechanism that makes the needle go up and down is jammed, it doesn’t go up and when I try to continue sewing the screen shows Lo.

Any idea why this could happen?

Hi @y76rx3q3sh5nm5x

A Lo error message indicates a motor overload condition.

This can be caused by a problem in the bobbin area.

Remove the bobbin case and check for any jammed threads etc.

Also remove the cover and check for any threads that may be jamming the take up lever.

Basically the electronics have detected that the needle movement is being hindered by whatever and have locked the motor to prevent the motor from being damaged.

Here's the service manual that may help.
