I can't connect my phone WiFi Internet to my laptop

Does the laptop detect the phone's WiFi network OK but not connect to it or doesn't it detect the WiFi at all?
Have you proved that the phone can connect to other WiFi networks proving that the WiFi is OK in the phone?
