replacing back glass on s24+

I'm replacing battery and back glass on my s24+ and there is a white thing almost like a little circle by where the camera lenses go and I seen videos online where people remove those and put them in the new glass but this one was glued in and i poked a hole in it trying to remove it, can i get a new one? or do i need it at all?

Hi Dennis,

According to Galaxy S24 Repair Guide, that hole is for the 3rd microphone and is referred to as the 3rd mic hole tape

Samsung part number GH02-25626A.

I believe it's purpose is to seal the microphone against water ingress, and as such, having poked a hole in it shouldn't be an issue unless you're into dropping your phone in the sink. Unfortunately it appears that Samsung no longer sells that part, and of the one site I found that listed it, they were out of stock.

As far as I can tell, all it is, is a donut shaped circle of double sided adhesive, so yes, you could probably do without it, but if you can reuse the piece with the hole in it or cut another piece of adhesive, you should be good. Here's the page of the repair manual that talks about installing it.

Not helpful, I'm afraid. The question was about the piece of tape that was on the original back but apparently not included with the replacement part, so telling Dennis to just buy a new back is pointless.
