iPhone will not Scan for WiFi, etc.

No MiFi address (or other) visible. Phone gives "Could not scan for wireless networks." How do I fix this, or is the iPhone defective? It's barely 2 mos. old:-/

First hold the home and sleep/wake button for 10 seconds until the iPhone turn off completely. This will fix most common errors. If that doesn't work then try backing it up the restoring it from your computer. If both of these methods do not work then I would take it to Apple to see what they can do. If it is 2 months old then there will still be a warranty on the iPhone.

If you have tried repairing this device yourself, such as replacing the display assembly or even just changing the battery, the oil from your fingers can interfere with the wifi antenna which is exposed massively even if you just take away the back case.

Remember you only need just one digit in 20,000 '1' s and '0' s in wifi signals to be missing for your iPhone to think the signal is so corrupted (so weak) that it will not be able to see the device. Try using a degreasing agent.

Apple products are to a certain extent assembled by hand, so it is not surprising if one has been defective and is seen from very early on.

Hope this helps!
