The truck wont start at all

On my 1987 F-150, the part where the key goes in is supposedly the problem but i dont know how to take it off and replace it. Is there a diagram or a video of a car like this one ? i doubt there will be one for the exact car but an example of another car is fine. thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

an Hernandez, you are talking about the ignition switch. If you need to replace the switch, the lock cylinder must be in the "on" position to be removed. This means that you will have to drill out the lock cylinder to remove it. You have to break the outer part off of the cylinder (where you turn it with your thumb and finger to start it) using pliers, then drill down through the cylinder and tumblers until you can rotate it to the "on" position. On a non tilt wheel, you then have to remove the steering wheel and the turn signal switch to depress the release tab. On tilt wheels, there is a hole in the column right below the lock cylinder that releases it, but it still has to be in the On position. There is some great information with pictures on here. Hope this helps, good luck.
