Whenever I put a disc in it it makes weird noises over an over until it says can't recognize the disc I tried 5 disc and still won't recognize it when it does the sounds it sounds like it's trying read the disc but cant it even makes the ps5 sound like it's turning on or something

Hi, @pablo6180 I gotchu.
Looks like you will need a PlayStation Toolkit and a DVD Drive Replacement.
To do that, you can't simply replace the disc drive on your PS5. FixBot said the daughterboard must be transferred from the old drive to the new one.

Hi!
Before replacing the whole drive, I would suggest to replace the laser deck first and see how that goes.
Cheaper and less parts needed to do the repair.
You can follow this guide for that: PlayStation 5 Optical Drive Laser Replacement
You can replace the drive to fix it, but this could help you too. If this fails, then I would return the part and get yourself a new disk drive..

Have you connected all the cables? What error do you see? Most of the time it is related to the ribbon cables if this is the case.
