The LCD and digitizer sound like they've both sustained damage. The only fix is to replace the screen. This video shows you how.

You'll need an opening tool, some glue like B7000 or similar and a phillips #0 screwdriver. A heat gun or hair dryer will help soften the adhesives so you can get the back and the LCD off the frame. 90% or higher concentration isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol can be used to clean the old adhesive from the frame before gluing the new screen in place.
