Tools You’ll Need

  • Torx bits: T45 and E10 inverse Torx are commonly used.
  • Standard sockets: 8 mm and 10 mm.
  • Extensions + wobble joints: To reach bolts tucked behind the turbo.
  • Penetrating oil: Helps loosen stubborn bolts.
  • Pliers/nut driver: For clamps and small fittings.
  • ⚡ Steps to Access & Remove
    1. Disconnect battery — safety first.
    2. Remove intake piping & heat shield — clears space around the turbo.
    3. Unbolt downpipe — gives you room to reach the turbo flange bolts.
    4. Spray penetrating oil on turbo bolts — let it soak to avoid stripping.
    5. Use extensions/wobble socket to reach the bolts on the back side.
    6. Work evenly — loosen bolts in sequence to avoid stress on the housing.
    7. Support turbo — once bolts are free, hold it steady to prevent damage to oil/coolant lines.
