Repair and disassembly information for Samsung's flagship S21 Ultra Android smartphone, released in January of 2021.Also known as the Samsung SM-G998U1

Replaced the battery with an iFixit one and Battey life is worse

Replaced the battery on my S21 Ultra with the ones iFixit are selling on their store which was dated may 2025 (very good date) and I made the replacement in September.

Ever since then the batterylife has been either the same or even worse than before even tho i calibrated it according to the steps on the battery's package.

I have also gotten the warning in the screenshot twice since September and never seen it before that.

What's the issue?

Is it a genuine samsung battery or a copy?

by

@ted53890 Aftermarket, but since it's sold by iFixit I was thinking it's as genuine as it can get when it comes to 3rd party batteries.

IIRC when i was shopping for a new one I don't think I found any genuine batteries from Samsung directly.

@Damonkas, look for a Samsung service pack as below.

@damonkas, If you're having issues with your replacement battery, I suggest you contact the iFixit Store personnel, as their batteries have a full one year guarantee and from what I've seen, they're very good at honoring their warranties. You can use the new FixBot assistant to contact them, or email them at support@ifixit.com. They may have suggestions on things you can try, or they could offer you a replacement part. Although I've been impressed with the quality of iFixit parts and tools, there are always going to be a few defects that slip through so it's possible you just got unlucky and received a defective battery.

I'm late but want to add to this, I contacted iFixit and they saw the thread and sent out a new battery as soon as they had the shipping address.

10/10 customer service and I'm so happy by iFixit's sending out a replacement with no hassle

I have this same issue and what's worse is I already received a replacement and it too is showing 83% battery health. I replaced the first original battery when it was also at 83% health and ifixits first battery came in at around 83-85% health and I use a app for measuring the capacity that is well regarded as being super accurate. I paid for the pro version of the app a long time ago cause I have many android devices so it helps to have a well known good working battery monitoring app on all my devices. I bought from ifixit because I've always heard good things about them but man this experience is worrying me now. I'm positive at this point that it's not a calibration issue with my device or software but weirdly the phone does seem to last slightly longer then the original OEM battery but def not as long as a fresh new one. I can show all my screen shots of measurements I also recalibrated my monitoring app since you have to do that when installing a new battery even went as far as fully wiping app da
