Hi @glennwestlake

What is the make of the massage chair?

You may have to open it up to access the control board (or power board if two boards) and initially visually check for any component damage on the boards.

Look for blown fuses, capacitors, and MOVs on the board that the AC power connects to

@glennwestlake besides the aforementioned things we need to know, it will also be helpful if you can at least post some pictures of the place where your AC power connects to. etc. that way we can try to assist you further

There is no "may have to" about it. Popping sounds and/or magic smoke will require repair/replacement of internal parts.

If you are lucky, it is simply a fuse - but they don't make a sound when they fail. If you are unlucky, the whole control board including PSU will gave to be replaced.

Pray, the voltage increase didn't get to the motors. Luck will be that a simple component or 2 is all that is fried.
