Can you assemble a iP 4 Display into a 4S device?
Is there any difference concerning the placement of the screws etc?
Or do I need to buy a '4S' specified display?

No You can't place the iphone4 lcd inside the iphone4s . The side angles where screws are fitted are different in both the phones but the jack of motherboard are same. If someone want to check the display is working then they can put the jack on the mother board and check it will work. but there is a fitting problem.
