MacBook is completely dead.

After a hard drive replacement, the computer turned on, but the led light on it blinked like 5 times and that's all. No screen display, it does not respond to any command i gave. It has the install dvd stuck o it and there is no way i can pull it out..

Also the magsafe adapter has no light.

And suddenly, it died. When I press the power button, nothing happens. It's totally dead.

Can it be the Logic Board?

You have a bad processor:

The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).

If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.

1 beep = no RAM installed

2 beeps = incompatible RAM types

3 beeps = no good banks

4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)

5 beeps = processor is not usable

In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.

It could be that the RAM is not properly seated. Remove and reinsert the RAM by pushing it firmly in. Processor won't just die after a hard drive replacement.

Recheck if all the parts are properly reconnected. e.g. battery, ram...

Any reason why you replaced the hard drive? Is it for upgrade purpose or is there some other issue on the other parts before the replacement? What is the model # of the new hard drive?

by

yes, the original one was dead. Suddenly the "?" icon appeared at the start up.. And when I pressed alt at the start up, the hard drive never appeard on the screen.

The original one was a Hitachi 250gb 5400rpm

The new one is a Western Digital 320gb 5400rpm

model# WD3200BPVT - 00HXZT3 (is that one correct?)

Thanks a lot guys!

PD: sorry if my english isnt that good.

If you have an external usb sata enclosure, try to put your new hard drive on it and plug it in on a different laptop and see if it is recognized. If not then you might be having a bad hard drive. If it is recognized on a different laptop then you might be having a bad hard drive cable.

I did it, the original hd is dead, the new one is running correctly. But the laptop's still dead. No matter what hd I put on it.
