Based on your video and what little I can gather from it you most likely have a water flow issue or a bad sensor below is the instructions on how to put it into Diagnostic mode from there youll need to look up the Error code. Ive attached a few at the bottom but you will have to find your specific code/fault from there its just repairing or replacing the part.
Whirlpool Classic 621S Top Load Washer Diagnostic Mode
- To access diagnostic mode on a Whirlpool Classic 621S top-load washer, follow these steps:
- Ensure the washer is in stand-by mode (plugged in, console blank, or only the Lid Locked LED is flashing).
- If the Fill or Sensing light is on, press the Power button to turn it off, or unplug the washer for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Press the Power button again to reset the display.
- Rotate the cycle selector knob until only the "Done" LED is lit and the display shows "D1".
- Press and hold the Start button for 3 seconds to enter Fault Code Display Mode.
- The status LEDs (Sensing, Soak, Wash, Rinse, Spin, Done) will flash in sequence, and the 7-segment display will show the stored fault codes.
- The washer stores the 4 most recent error codes. Write them down for troubleshooting.
- To clear the codes, press and hold the Start button for about 3 seconds to exit diagnostic mode.
Note: If the Diagnostic LED on the control board is off, the main control may be faulty—refer to the tech sheet for further testing. For detailed error code meanings and troubleshooting, consult the Whirlpool and Maytag Top Load Washer Diagnostic Guide or the model-specific tech sheet.
drn: Washer is not draining properly. Check the drain hose for clogs and ensure the pump is functioning.
HC: Hot and cold water hoses are reversed. Turn off the water supply and swap the hoses.
LdL: Lid is not locking. Check for obstructions under the lid or detergent buildup around the lid lock mechanism.
LdU: Lid cannot unlock. Remove items like laundry baskets from the top of the washer.
LF / Lo FL / F8E1: Washer is taking too long to fill. Ensure both hot and cold water faucets are fully open and the water supply is adequate.
lid: Lid was left open. Close the lid to clear the code.
OFb / ofb: Load is out of balance. Redistribute clothes evenly and restart the cycle.
Sud / Sd: Excessive suds detected. Use only HE (High-Efficiency) detergent and avoid overloading.
PF: Power failure interrupted the cycle. Press and hold START/PAUSE to restart or clear the display.
For persistent errors, especially F#E# codes (like F1E1, F2E1), refer to the Whirlpool service manual or contact a certified technician, as these often indicate internal control or sensor faults.
I would look at the control board and see if you can find a manual online that tells you how to place it in diagnostic mode. It sounds like a sensor may have failed.
