My MacBook Pro turns on but has weird screen.

Hi My MacBook Pro laptop turns on but the screen looks like a bunch of pixels it won't go any further then the start-up screen and then it comes up with a messege that looked like it said that I had to restart my computer. When I do it does the same thing.

That definitely sounds like a failing video card to me, which is unfortunately integrated onto the logic board.

Just to be sure though, try hooking it up to an external monitor first. If the image on the external monitor is fine, it's not the video card (and the next pieces to try would be the display data cable, then the LCD panel). If the image on the external monitor manifests the same symptoms, you unfortunately need a new logic board.

Good luck!

Here is another user! I had the similar problem. Every time, I tried to re-start 15", but after awhile, the monitor said, you need to restart your computer, hold down the power button until it turns off and then press the power button again. After I read this, i connected the mac to external monitor and try again. It worked. I repeated several times, still works. thanks!

it really helped!
