Wine refrigerators, also known as wine coolers, are specialized appliances designed to preserve and enhance the quality of wines.

Very specific noise that my fridge is making.

Hi, my wine fridge is making a very specific noise when it clicks. Is it fixable?

I have a vintec v30sg I have inherited. It runs okay for the first day but then makes excessive noise/ vibration when trying to cool and violently clicks on and off (the whole wine fridge shakes and you can hear it from 2 rooms away). At some point it keeps clicking every 5 minutes, multiple times, sort of like trying to start an old lawnmower trying to start the cooling but doesn’t seem to want to go.

The clear door also ends up with a lot of condensation that it drips on the floor. Located in sydney (in case that’s relevant).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have checked it is level already, I called customer service vintec and they were rubbish. So much so if I need to replace it, I would not buy another vintec (I am aware they are supposed to be the bees knees)

Check if the compressor motor is running or if it is trying to start but then doesn't keep running.

Is the temperature in the compartment reaching the desired temperature?

A clicking sound could be the compressor start relay continually operating trying to get the compressor to start.

What is the full model number of the refrigerator?

Hi Alan,

Although this could be caused by something a bit more complicated (like a compressor or fan) I would suggest the following "quick fixes" to see if they help:

  1. Unplug/replug the fridge --- you can either do this manually or with your circut breaker
  2. Clean the compressor coils --- this video shows you how to do so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBwg9S-S...
  3. Make sure that nothing is blocking any fans/air intakes, either outside the fridge or inside

If these steps do not work, I would suggest that you take a short video of the noise and add it to your origional post. This will help us diagnose it
