Laptop too slow after "upgrade"
Even after I add a 8Gb ram now having 16Gb ram and 40% free rom memory it continues too slow. Do I need to do any config on Bios due to ram upgrade?
Is this a good question?

Could be symptoms of a failing Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or even Solid State Drive (SSD). An HDD will have moving parts and will make clicking sounds when they're failing. SSDs don't have moving parts but regardless of which you have, a quick and easy way to look at disc usage is in task manager. Make sure all external drives are disconnected and make sure no applications are running, open task manager and look at disk usage. If it is sitting at 100% that's a telltale sign the drive is failing and will need replacement as it's on borrowed time, and definitely transfer your important data to an external drive! If your machine is running an HDD, SSDs are a solid upgrade. They're faster and hold up better in laptops, especially against drops because they don't have moving parts. Before the spike in memory prices, they ran about $60, now they're around $100 for a 2.5" SATA drive.

Hi!
Upgrading to more ram can improve certain situations, but it is not always more performance that a ram upgrade will give you.
By acquiring more ram, what you can essentially do is more multi-tasking. You can have more things stored in quick-access memory (and thus also reducing the use of SWAP memory (i.e., using your HDD/SDD to temporarily store "memory") which is very slow).
By upgrading to more ram, you will be able to:
This can give you an in-game/application performance boost if a game/application is heavily limited by your low ram capacity. Or make applications or games feel more "snappy" as they don't need to load as much data from the slower disk.
However, this upgrading to more ram will not give much performance boost if you are GPU or CPU limited. More ram will neither give you much of an improvement if the bottleneck is initially loading data from your disk drive.
While for example in a game, more ram will not typically give you more FPS, but more ram will reduce load time of loading inventory, switching menus, loading items or new map areas. But more ram will not make the initial read from your disk driver faster.
Tho, on the topic of upgrading ram. Ram has memory timings, sometimes also referred to as speed. Upgrading ram timings (which would be needed for ALL ram sticks) can sometimes improve the communication speed between the CPU and the RAM, which in certain circumstances can slightly improve performance.
Ram timings is pretty important and when you add more ram to a system, you should always add ram sticks with the same memory timings as the already existing ram sticks (unless your replacing all ram sticks). This is because if ram sticks has different memory timings, they will always default to the lowest common memory timing, which can sometimes add a lot of delay essentially making the ram work much slower and sometimes cause instabilities.
In some instances ram sticks will have XMP or EXPO profile available allowing for higher ram clock speeds (tho this is more typical for gaming oriented devices). You can read more about XMP, if you have it available on your laptop here.
Feel free to ask for more information, or reply with any other question!
Good luck,
Cheers
