Fix your Bose Soundlink audio speaker with these replacement part DIY repair guides.

Speaker changes into AUX mode upon connecting to a bluetooth device

My family has an old Bose SoundLink Mobile speaker II from 2012, that now developed a live of it's own. Whenever we try to connect a bluetooth device to it (smartphones or a labtop) it stays connected for only about a second, before changing to AUX mode, where it then severs the connection again.

I tried resetting it by pressing the mute button for 10 seconds but this did not help.

The manual doesn't have advice for this specific problem.

@blackplate could be a faulty (or dirty) aux port. Clean it with some isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. Try a reset by holding the AUX & Volume Down for about15 secs. After that you would have to dismantle it and possibly replace the Aux port.
