Optical drive removal - can you not replace it?
I need to remove the optical drive from a MacBook Pro Model A1226 - I don't want to replace it. Can I just leave it empty?
Is this a good question?

Yes, you can leave it empty and the computer just won't see an internal drive. They do, however, make hard drive caddy's in the shape of those optical drives so that you can add an additional hard drive will the loss of your optical drive.
